Dr. Lemmon has delivered expert services in organization development, behavioral health, and behavioral risk management areas for 30 years. Joe enjoys community speaking engagements designed to engage and inform on popular topics of these times. He presents to non-profit groups, associations, service groups, and conferences on timely and crucial topics related to organizational culture, leadership, behavioral health/risk management and substance use and dependency in the workplace.

Dr. Lemmon earned his doctoral degree from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology with concentrations in Organizational Leadership and Business Psychology and his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology and clinical social work from Towson University and the University of Maryland respectively. Professional experiences as a Director of a hospital-based addictions program, employee assistance professional, and behavioral health/risk management consultant led to his doctoral work integrating leadership, addictions, and systems theory for his qualitative research and dissertation. Joe’s work with families, organizations, and groups involves a systems-oriented approach with an emphasis on structural dynamics, personality characteristics, and leadership style.
Joe served two terms as President, Chesapeake Chapter of the Employee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA) and was named Chesapeake Chapter member of the year in 2003. Membership and committee activities have included volunteer positions with RIMS (legislative committee), and HoCoHRS.
